my dental surgery experience

hey there...after 7 days staying at hospital sg buloh, i finally get my dental surgery done..first of all, i will explain why i m going to do such surgery and the experiences i went trough these 7 tough days..
not to forget, i need to thank the dentists and surgeon that done my surgery:-
Dr Kok(surgeon),
Dr Kasmah(surgeon) ,
Dr Melissa(dentist),
Dr Maslina(dentist) and
one more pretty malay lady dentist( sorry that i don't know her name)

first of all, u all might ask me why i go to make myself suffer to do the dental surgery right? where actually i decided to do such surgery because it was suggested by my orthodontic (braces) dentist..he said that my lower jaw bone wasn't grow to side way but way down..so after i did my braces, my teeth all were aligned..but now there was a really obvious changes that was my lower jaw is longer than my upper jaw..and i having tough time to bite the food that are kinda elastic, and when i talked also cant pronounce properly..this was because i have a gap about 5mm when both upper and lower jaw bite together..and the other factor that drives me to do this surgery because my dad had paid so much to get me done my teeth, so i just wanted it to be complete so that it will be not wasted...so my dentist referred me to sg buloh government hospital...

my surgery was actually scheduled to be done on this april but due to some emergency cases, i had been delayed until today..so i was admitted to ward on 14Oct08, and discharged on today 20Oct08..my surgery was scheduled on 15Oct08 at 1130 am..i went down to the operation theater at that particular time..and i have a really cool and chilling sleep in the theater for about 1 hour, then only pushed me into the operation room for surgery...i was shivering when i first pushed into the waiting area...the air cond was so cold and i just have their operation clothes and a blanket..><"

during operation, i couldn't tell much as i had been given general anaesthetic..i was unconscious and totally don't know what happening from 1pm until 930 pm...after that period, i regained my consciousness, i felt like vomiting ,numbness at my lower jaw, muscle around my lower cheek and my lips..when i regained a bit of consciousness, i knew that i was given oxygen supply, checking BP, body temperature and beeping sound from machine that was about my heartbeat..

when i woke up, i was unable to wake up, i felt that i was too heavy to move around..then my family came, they showed me the picture after my surgery..wow..it was totally a different person compared to the one before surgery..my face was swelled..just like a pig head...haha...they have a drainage tube and sodium chloride for me...=.= the removing of drainage tube was really a horrible experience...terrible pain..>< i don't wish to recall it...so after surgery i cant eat, i cant talk i, cant drink..=.=..suffering..

until second day, they got me removed the drainage tube...>< then i was sent to dental department to fix my jaw muscle position that they had planned..another awful experience as well..even i felt numb, but i still felt slight pain around my mouth when they put elastic ring around my braces to fix my jaw muscle position..after putting that ring, i couldn't talk as it was really tight..after putting that, i manage to move my lips and able to drink some water with a small spoon...then my dripping sodium chloride was removed..ahhhh~~ much better...but when come to injecting the painkiller and antibiotic, really horrible..especially the painkiller..it gives more pain to my right arm where a hollow tube was poked into my vein..soon after 3 times injecting painkiller, i refused to take anymore as i will be dizzy after injecting that..

3rd day i was much better, and i started to drink more water, milo and the soya milk that they provided to me..and i m also able to walk around the ward and talk slowly..but when i saw other patient having rice in their mouth, i totally collapse...lol...i only could watch they eat but i just can drink fluid...T.T...i have been taking fluid until last nite when my parents visited me again..they brought me porridge..XD..yeah!! that's what i am been looking forward to eat..lol...even it was just plain porridge with some salty taste, it was really a great meal to me..i felt so filled up for the first time after i admitted to ward..lol..

and now i m discharged from ward, i could have my porridge now..i m so glad..soon i m looking forward for some chicken cream soup..lol...
